Résidence internationale 2024 – Semaine 4

La semaine dernière a été riche en événements pour nos artistes en résidence. La semaine a débuté avec deux journées intenses d’ateliers aux Beaux-Arts de Paris avec l’artiste et chef d’atelier Romain Bernini. Ouvert à tous les étudiant.e.s désireux.se.s de participer, cet atelier avait pour but de favoriser un échange des pratiques artistiques aboutissant à de nouvelles créations. Une oeuvre commune,  reflétant l’esprit de partage et de collaboration, a été crée par toustes les participant.e.s. Les étudiant.e.s ont aussi eu l’opportunité de créer une œuvre chacun.e.

Le mercredi 28 février, les artistes ont rencontré Daria de Beauvais au Palais de Tokyo, senior curator, afin de préparer le séminaire des deux artistes qui aura lieu prochainement. Profitant de cette occasion, Agatoak et Robin ont ensuite visité les expositions actuelles au Palais de Tokyo, récemment ouvertes.

Jeudi 29 était une journée spéciale : le vernissage de l’exposition “De ma peinture surgit survit mon âme” à la Fondation Francès, à Clichy. L’exposition regroupe un grand ensemble des œuvres de Raymond Kowspi Marek et de ses deux fils Robin et Agatoak Kowspi. Les invité.e.s ont pu rencontrer les artistes et échanger autour de leurs œuvres et mythes. 

Vendredi 1er mars, Agatoak et Robin ont profité des portes ouvertes de l’école Boulle, spécialisée en design et arts appliqués, pour la visiter. Accompagnés par Lucinda Caton, chargée des relations internationales, les artistes ont pu échanger avec les enseignant.e.s et les étudiant.e.s de certains ateliers, notamment ceux du bois, de la gravure, du métal et de la fabrication de l’or. Cette visite a été intéressante pour les deux artistes, qui ont été touchés par les opportunités et les matériaux mis à disposition des étudiants de l’école.

Enfin, le samedi, Agatoak et Robin étaient exceptionnellement présents à l’exposition à Clichy pour échanger avec les visiteurs et visiteuses et répondre à leur questions.

Last week was eventful for our resident artists. The week began with two intense days of workshops at the Beaux-Arts de Paris with the artist and chief of atelier Romain Bernini. Open to all students eager to participate, this workshop aimed to foster an exchange of artistic practices leading to new creations. A collective work, reflecting the spirit of sharing and collaboration, was created by all participants. Students also had the opportunity to create an individual piece each.

Wednesday 28th of February, the artists met Daria de Beauvais at the Palais de Tokyo, senior curator at the Palais, to discuss the seminar of the two artists that will take place at the end of March. Taking advantage of this occasion, Agatoak and Robin then visited the exhibitions at the Palais de Tokyo, which recently opened.

The 29th of February was a special day, marking the opening of the exhibition dedicated to the two artists and their father in Clichy at the Fondation Francès. Titled “From my painting emerges my soul” opened to the public on Friday and will last until the 14th. Guests had the opportunity to meet the artists and discuss their works and myths.

Friday 1st of March, Agatoak and Robin took the chance to discover the Ecole Boulle during the open day, school specialised in design and applied arts. Accompanied by Lucinda Caton, international coordinator of the school, the artists were able to interact with teachers and students from certain workshops, particularly those focused on wood, engraving, metal, and goldsmithing. This visit was very interesting for the artists, who were touched by the moltitude of opportunities and the materials available for the students.

On Saturday, Agatoak and Rovin were exceptionally present in Clichy at the exhibition for exchanging with the visitors and answering their questions.
