The association Françoise pour l’œuvre contemporaine en société, in partnership
with the Cité internationale des arts, is continuing its residency program dedicated
to the relationship between contemporary art, psychiatry, and society.

The partners are once again entrusting Albertine de Galbert
with supporting the research undertaken by the selected artist.

Residency Program — Art, Psychiatry and Society

Launched in 2025 by the Françoise Association and the Cité internationale des arts, this research and creation residency program explores the connections between contemporary art, psychiatry, and the humanities.

Conceived as an open research space, this program is not a therapeutic initiative. It is intended for artists of all nationalities whose practices resonate with the notion of the “clinical.” This concept refers to a situated approach, one that remains as close as possible to the individual, “at the patient’s bedside.”

Within the context of the residency, this notion shifts into the artistic field: creation is considered as a grounded, relational practice, attentive to the contexts in which it takes shape. The program therefore supports approaches that remain closely connected to personal narratives and lived experiences, while engaging with reflections on the challenges and questions surrounding care.

The selected artist will receive tailored support from Albertine de Galbert, clinical psychologist and curator, as well as from the program’s partners.
