Résidence internationale 2024 – Semaine 6 -7

La sixième semaine de la résidence des artistes Agatoak et Robin a été riche en partages, échanges et événements. Voici un récapitulatif des moments clés de cette semaine intense.

Le mardi 12 mars, les artistes ont visité le Musée d’archéologie nationale de Saint-Germain en Laye. Accompagnés par la directrice du musée, ils ont visité la collection dédiée à la Papouasie-Nouvelle Guinée et ils ont eu le privilège d’explorer les réserves du musée. 

Le mercredi soir, les artistes ont accueilli ceux et celles intéressés lors des journée d’Open Studios à la Cité Internationale des Arts. Les Open Studios ont offert une opportunité unique aux visiteurs, artistes et amateurs d’art de découvrir les ateliers des deux artistes et d’admirer leurs œuvres en cours. Une soirée marquée par des échanges et des rencontres artistiques enrichissants. 

Jeudi 14 mars, il a eu lieu une conférence au Musée du Quai Branly, où Agatoak et Robin étaient protagonistes. La conférence, sur la création contemporaine en Papouasie Nouvelle Guinée, a été animée par Magali Mélandri, enseignante et responsable du département océanique du musée. Cette conférence a été l’occasion pour les artistes de présenter leur travail et de partager leur démarche artistique avec le public.

Enfin, vendredi a été une journée intense, avec la conclusion du workshop avec l’artiste Stéphanie Mansy, débuté la semaine avant, où le trois artistes ont pu finaliser leurs oeuvres en réalisant des éditions limitées des gravures, témoignages de cette collaboration unique. 

La soirée a été dédie au vernissage de l’exposition « De ma peinture surgit, survit mon âme » à la Galerie F. à Senlis. Agatoak et Robin étaient présents pour partager leur inspirations derrière leurs créations et répondre à leurs questions. 

La semaine suivante a été marquée par Drawing Now, où les artistes étaient exposés sur le stand de la Galerie F., dans le secteur Process. Lors du vernissage, ils ont profité pour faire une visite approfondie du Salon, en admirant la sélection du dessin contemporain de cette année.

The sixth week of residency for the artists Agatoak and Robin was rich in sharing, exchanges and events. Here is a recap of key moments of this intense week. 

On March 12th, the artists visited the National Archeological Museum of Saint-Germain-en Laye. Accompanied by the museum director, they explored the collection dedicated to Papua New Guinea and had the privilege of visiting the museum’s stockages. 

Wednesday evening, the artists welcomed those interested at the Cité Internationale des Arts, on the day of the Open Studios. The open studios offered a unique opportunity for visitors, artists and art lovers to discover Agatoak and Robin’s ateliers and admire their ongoing creations. It was an evening marked by enriching exchanges and artistic encounters. 

On Thursday 14th of March, it took place at the Musée du Quai Branly a conference where Agatoak and Robin were protagonists. The discussion centred around contemporary creation in Papua New Guinea, was moderated by Magali Mélandri, teacher and responsible of the oceanic department of the museum. This conference provided the artists with an opportunity to present their work, and artistic traditions, and share their creative process with the public. 

Eventually, Friday was another intense day, with the conclusion of the workshop with the artist Stéphanie Mansy, which began the previous week. The three artists could finalize their artworks and created limited editions of engravings, the result of this unique collaboration. 

The evening was dedicated to the vernissage of their exhibition “De ma peinture surgit, survit mon âme”, at Gallery F. in Senlis. Agatoak and Robin were present to share the inspirations behind their artworks and answer visitors’ questions. 

The following week, week 7 of the residency, was marked by the Drawing Now art fair, where the artists were exhibited at the stand of the Galerie F., in the section Process. During the vernissage, they took the opportunity to visit the fair and admire this year’s selection of contemporary drawings.
