Fleur Helluin

Fleur Helluin a étudié sous la direction de Gilian Gelzer et Joel Hubaut à Caen (France), et de Norbert Bisky à Salzburg (Autriche). Après un DNSEP en 2005, elle participe au programme Art et Technologie de l’Image à l’université Paris 8 en 2006.
Depuis 2004, son travail explore l'impact de la culture de l'écran sur la figure contemporaine. Ses oeuvres représentatives incorporent le riche vocabulaire visuel associé aux nouvelles technologies (lumière, posture, références internet) à des peintures à l'huile classique. En représentant la figure contemporaine, elle met en lumière les mécanismes paradoxaux de la perception de soi et du monde, dans un engagement critique avec le présent.
Les méthodes et les sites archéologiques sont un autre moteur de cette recherche.
Sa pratique est centrée sur la peinture, et explore également les champs de la performance, installation ou expérimentations sonores. Ses travaux ont été exposés avec entre autres Bill Viola, Norbert Bisky, Damien Cadio, ou Cécile Wesolowski.
Depuis 2006, elle vit entre Berlin et la Normandie.
Fleur Helluin a fondé le groupe de dance-punk Plateau Repas en 2005 avec Marianne Jacquet et Valentin Plessy. Toujours actif en 2017, Plateau Repas est régulièrement programmé dans les clubs alternatifs européens.

Fleur Helluin studied under the direction of Gilian Gelzer and Joel Hubaut in Caen, France, and Norbert Bisky in Salzburg, Austria. She was also part of the academic program Art & Technology of the Image in University Paris 8.
Since 2004, her work explores the impact of the screen-based culture on contemporary figure. Her representational works incorporate the rich features linked to the use of the screen (light, posture, online vocabulary) to traditional oil painting. Through the representation of the contemporary figure, she sheds a new light on the paradoxal mechanisms of the perception of ourselves and the world, engaging strongly with the present.
The archaeological methodology and sites are another engine for her work in this direction.
Her practice is focused on painting, and incorporates performance, installation and sound experiments. Her works have been shown with Bill Viola, Norbert Bisky, Damien Cadio, or Ceìcile Wesolowski.
Since 2006, she lives between Berlin, Germany and Normandy, France.
In 2005 she founded the alternative dance-punk band Plateau Repas with Marianne Jacquet and Valentin Plessy. Still active in 2017, Plateau Repas is regularly programed in european alternative clubs.
